Czech photographer Pavel Hroch captures the strength and resilience of towns like Cherán, Comachuén, and Cocucho, where locals rose up against illegal loggers and organised crime to reclaim control of their land. Blending striking imagery with profound political and cultural insight, the book reflects a rare and inspiring instance of indigenous self-governance rooted in tradition, cosmology, and collective resistance.

The book won the Silver in the 15th ICMA – International Creative Media Award, the Photo Book/Photo Report Category.
